Every mapping table, library, font and word list this site uses, with who made it and how it is licensed. Where we only cross-checked against a source, the row says so.

This project

GNU GPL v3 or later.

Indian Font Converters is free software, released under the GNU General Public License, version 3 or (at your option) any later version (SPDX: GPL-3.0-or-later). You may use, study, change and share it under those terms. It comes with no warranty. The full text is in the LICENSE file.

Sources released under GPL-2.0-or-later, GPL-3.0, MIT, Apache-2.0, ISC, BSD, CC BY 4.0, CC BY-SA 4.0 (data only), SIL OFL (fonts) and the Unicode licence are all compatible with that choice. We do not use GPL-2.0-only or unlicensed code or data.

The source code is available on request until the public repository is published. Ask for it here and we will send you the complete corresponding source of the version you are using.

Font names on this site are trademarks of their respective owners. We use them only to say which font a converter is for; no font files or proprietary converter code are reused.

Conversion mappings

Where each font’s table comes from.

Generated from the provenance recorded for each published converter, so it always matches what is live. “Experimental” means one source and no independent verification; read the converter’s own page before relying on it. Profiles still under audit are withheld and not listed.

Language models for image to text.

The 15 recognition files come from tessdata_fast (Apache-2.0). Each one downloads from jsDelivr the first time you recognise text in that language; sizes and hashes are pinned in models.json.

Typefaces

Open fonts, served from this site.

The 93 typefaces on this site (the page text, plus the Indic fonts used for previews and typing) come from the Fontsource packages and are licensed under the OFL-1.1 (SIL Open Font License 1.1, which allows use, embedding and redistribution with attribution). They are served from this site’s own files; no request goes to a font service. The Open Graph preview cards and the OCR accuracy experiment also use Noto fonts under the same licence.
