Dashed keys depend on position. Faded keys are not mapped by this font. Hold Shift on your keyboard to see the upper layer.
01 · How the layout works
How the AnmolLipi layout works.
AnmolLipi and GurbaniAkhar share one ASCII layout. The vowel carriers sit on a, A and e (ੳ, ਅ, ੲ), tippi and bindi are on M and N, and the sihari ਿ is typed before its letter (i). The subjoined forms of ਰ and ਹ have their own keys (R and H). Characters this layout draws as stamps or decorations without a text meaning are flagged rather than guessed.

Type the keys, get the word
Most letters are one key. For example, AnmolLipi spells ਪੰਜਾਬੀ with the keys shown here.

◌ਿ is typed before the letter
Some vowel signs are typed first and the letter after, the way they look on paper. The converter puts them after the letter in Unicode.

24 characters are off the keyboard
The font also uses characters outside the plain keys: conjunct glyphs and extra signs, typed with Alt codes or a keyboard driver in the real font. Open “more characters” under the keys to add them.

04 · FAQ
Questions about the AnmolLipi keyboard
Is this the same as the Asees or Raavi layouts?
No. Asees uses a different layout and is not covered here. Raavi is a Unicode font, not a layout. Use this page for AnmolLipi / GurbaniAkhar text.
What about Gurbani signs?
Standard Gurmukhi signs map to Unicode. Characters without a verified text equivalent (decorative marks, stamps) are flagged, not guessed.
Do I need the AnmolLipi font installed?
No. This page turns your keystrokes into Unicode Punjabi as you type, which displays everywhere without any special font. You only need AnmolLipi installed if you copy the raw keystrokes (“Copy keys”) into a document set in AnmolLipi.
Can I use this on a phone?
Yes. Tap the on-screen keys. Each key shows the Punjabi letter it types, and dashed keys depend on position.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser. The last text you typed is kept only in this tab’s session storage so a refresh doesn’t lose it.
